Angie Borgwardt
I am a mother, an educator, and a lifelong learner. Prior to serving in my current position as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, I was a classroom teacher teaching a variety of grade levels and subject areas. Although I enjoyed every moment of my classroom experience, I have learned that my real passion is working directly with teachers.

I consider myself to be a Googler-in-Training! I've been so excited to learn so many fun Google tools and tricks, but the great thing about Google is, there are ALWAYS more tools and tricks to learn :-) My passion within the World of Google is discovering tools for accessibility to allow ALL students to access curriculum. I can't wait for Google Bootcamp!

Born in San Jose, CA, I grew up moving all over the country with my military father, educator mother, and annoying big brother. I started college with the intent of becoming a film maker, however I decided to pursue a BA in Psychology and MA in Teaching. I recently concluded my second year teaching, and fall in love with the profession every day. I love working at a STEAM school, and try to integrate all aspects of science, technology, engineering, art/ASL, and math to all of my lessons as well as my experiences travelling to 25+ countries and knowledge as a film-maker/artist. I'm a life-long learner who loves collaborative/creative projects, kinetic learning, and jelly beans. Outside of the classroom I spend my time to community involvement through a non-profit organization and coaching and playing roller derby.

As I enter my 8th year in education, I continue to be inspired by the students I teach and the educators I encounter each day. I have had the privilege of attending Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, for my undergrad and Sacramento State for my masters. Through this experience, I’ve developed a passion for teaching and lifelong learning. At Westlake Charter School, teachers are designers. I’ve been able to design curriculum, integrate technology and supplement with resources that meet the needs of our students. I’m currently a Google Certified Educator and serve as a Tech Lead Learner on our campus. I look forward to this continued journey in Ed Tech to collaborate with other teachers, enhance instruction, motivate students and showcase learning in a new way.

I am new to the ins and out of Google. I attended Google Boot Camp for the first time last summer and the GAFE Summit at the beginning of 2017. I have worked with technology to increase communication since 1992. I love technology - low tech and high tech. I am excited to be presenting at Google Boot Camp 2016. |
